Objectives, content and organisation of the programme of study\par\plain\rtlch\af0\afs20\alang0\ltrch\f0\fs20\lang0\langnp0\langfe0\langfenp0 The two-year Master\loch\af0\dbch\af0\hich\f0\'92\hich\af0\dbch\af0\loch\f0 s programme of study (M.A.) in European Studies contains advanced courses on contemporary developments in the European Union (EU) and Europe with the overarching theme of \loch\af0\dbch\af0\hich\f0\'93\hich\af0\dbch\af0\loch\f0 Differentiated Europe: Integration, cooperation and conflict\loch\af0\dbch\af0\hich\f0\'94\hich\af0\dbch\af0\loch\f0 . It also includes courses on methodology and other approved courses at the master level, the latter primarily consisting of a relevant internship or courses from international universities abroad. \par\par The Master's programme in European Studies primarily has its emphasis on political, economic and cultural developments within the European Union (EU). These developments are analysed from a variety of disciplinary lenses ranging from contemporary history, political science, and political economy. Students are provided with essential knowledge in order to encounter the challenges of an increasingly globalized society. The M.A. in European Studies is assessed by both examination and thesis. \par\par The programme has three main components:\par{\pntext\pard\plain\f1\fs20\'b7\tab}\pard\ltrpar\itap0\nowidctlpar\ql\fi-170\li170\ri0\lin170\rin0\tx170{\*\pn\pnlvlblt\ilvl0\ls1\pnstart1\pnf1\pnfs20\pnb0\pni0\pnstrike0\pnulnone\pncf0\pncb0{\pntxtb \'b7}}\ls1\ilvl0 One joint component comprised of compulsory courses within European Studies and elective courses chosen from the course portfolio of either the Faculty of Humanities (e.g. History or Languages) or the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences.\par{\pntext\pard\plain\f1\fs20\'b7\tab}{\*\pn\pnlvlblt\ilvl0\ls1\pnstart1\pnf1\pnfs20\pnb0\pni0\pnstrike0\pnulnone\pncf0\pncb0{\pntxtb \'b7}}\ls1\ilvl0 One component consisting of either a relevant internship (combined with elective courses if applicable); courses at the NTNU including Experts in Teamwork (EiT); or courses at a university abroad.
