This course provides an experimental learning platform where the students get the opportunity to develop their interpersonal skills to work with/in teams in an entrepreneurial context.

The following is a partial list of objectives:
1. Motivate teams in an entrepreneurial setting

2. Deal with conflict and creativity productively
3. Understand and use emotional intelligence (EI) in teams
4. Improve ability to effictively work with/in groups

In particular, the learning outcomes are:

• The student is knowledgeable about the management literature on team work
• The student is knowledgeable about entrepreneurial theories
• The student can use the above mentioned insights (methods and concepts) with regard to team design (composition), processes and performance.
• The student has developed a sound attitude with regards to team work.

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification is required.

The course is only for students that are part of the 2-year Master`s program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Center for Entrepreneurship, University of Oslo.

The examination in this course is not available for external candidates. Only students admitted to the course may sit for the examination.

The core of the course is a series of team and group exercises and readings. The exercises are framed and analyzed in terms of readings, lectures, and in-depth class discussions.

Teaching takes place throughout the semester and you are expected to participate in all team and group exercises and simulations, when in class.

The lectures are mandatory, which means that you will need to attend 80 percent of the lectures. You are allowed to be absent 20 percent of the lectures even though this is not recommended. If you are absent more than 20 percent you will need to show to medical declaration for the absence otherwise you will not pass the course.

Access to teaching

A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.

The course grade is calculated based on the following components:

• A final group assignment including an oral group presentation accounting for in total 50% of the score. Students in each group are given the same score. Group members who do not fulfill their obligations can be scored individually from the group.

• Individual assignments/quizzes given during the semester accounting for in total 50% of the overall score.

Failing a graded assignment does still allow participation in the remaining exams. All exams and assignments must be taken during the same semester.

Completion of mandatory attendance is required in order to pass the course.

No examination support material is allowed.

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
